On the weekend of November 28 & 29th my parents and I traveled to Cleveland, OH to attend the 25th anniversary of the movie "The Christmas Story." We stayed in a gorgeous hotel in downtown Cleveland which just added to the whole experience (actually where a majority of the events for the weekend were held). During this weekend we got the chance to tour all of the areas seen in the movie; the actual Christmas Story House (during which I got the chance to shot the Red Ryder & NO I didnt shoot my eye out), Higbee's Department Store, and the museum which held all of the actor's costumes and other unique items from the movie. We got the chance to take a ride on the red fire truck that saved Flick's tongue from the pole. We also got to meet a handful of the actors; Grover Dill and Scott Farcus (the bullies), the elves from Higeebees, Miss Shields (the teacher), BlackBart (one of the bandits), Randy (Ralphie's little brother) and Flick (the one who stuck his tongue to the pole). We watched a firework display and a parade in downtown Cleveland, much like the one seen in the movie. I also was interviewed by Star.Com and quoted in their issue covering the convention.
